Principal

Welcome, Hippo Nation! I am honored to serve as the principal of Gus Almquist Middle School.  Our students and staff are creative, critical thinkers, and thrive in our collaborative environments. As a proud Leader in Me campus, we champion the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. By integrating principles like Being Proactive, Beginning with the End in Mind, and Thinking Win-Win, we equip our students with the leadership and life skills they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

We are passionate about working alongside our dedicated staff, supportive parents, and incredible students to build a community where everyone feels empowered, valued, and inspired to reach their full potential. 

In my 17 years of experience in education, I've had the privilege of serving in various roles, from being a teacher and instructional coach to an assistant principal and a campus principal. Each of these experiences has reinforced my commitment to creating a dynamic and supportive learning environment for each and every student. Go Hippos!
